The EAA 1600 fly-in breakfast is held on the second Saturday of May, June, July, August and September from 0800-1000.
The purpose of these breakfasts is primarily to attract pilots and planes from surrounding airports to share aviation interests and camaraderie. Additionally, we would like to introduce the surrounding Ohio aviation community to the Delaware Airport and the services that it provides, such as a superb flight school, aircraft maintenance and avionics services. Although the primary attendees are other pilots we welcome drive-in guests from the surrounding community too. Welcoming these non flyer allows them to be introduced to the airport and made aware of its value to the community.
There is a difference between the EAA 1600's pancake breakfast and "other" fly-in pancake breakfasts. We offer eggs and pancakes cooked to order, hot grilled sausage links and fresh biscuits served with Jane's special sausage gravy, real butter, orange juice and hot coffee. A short wait in line to be served is expected as we prepare your order. We do not charge for food but donations to support EAA 1600 charitable aviation activities are welcome.
Remember, these "donation only" breakfasts are not only EAA 1600's main source of revenue to support our EAA chapter, airport, aviation and scholarship benefit projects but also allow us to showcase the Delaware Airport within the local area. We know that community support for our airport is important.
