About Us

Welcome EAA Chapter 1600

Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our chapter. We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.

Our Chapter has its roots in EAA Vintage Chapter 27. A Vintage chapter was established because that was all EAA had available at the time. The group grew and established the now traditional “Pancake Breakfasts” out of hanger on field. As the popularity of the pancakes grew, they outgrew the hanger, raised money, and built the Shelter House we continue to use today. The Shelter House is our link to the local community, traveling pilots, and airport tenants. It is the hope of Chapter 1600 to expand these relationships as time goes on. With that, we invite you to be a part of our Chapter and join us in a pancake breakfast, good conversation, and a shared interest in aviation no matter what your degree of interest may be.
